If you’ve been following Travel Choreography for a while, you already know this: Seville is one of our anchor destinations. It’s a city I’ve explored from every angle since day one, simply because I’m still fascinated by its local beauty and that enchanting Andalusian architecture. The courtyards of old homes and rooftop terraces across southern Europe are simply my weakness.

Seville just has a way of sweeping you off your feet. After a while, some places in the same region can start to feel a little alike, but Seville has something simply unique. That’s why exploring its hotel scene has been such a joy for me. You’ll find everything from grand historic palaces to endless generic tourist apartments, but the real challenge is finding that real-life Andalusian charm instead of something that feels overhyped and fake.

So I revisited our favorite corners of Seville, combed through the latest boutique openings, closely weighed the design and service of each property, and narrowed the list down to the places I think capture the absolute best of the city right now.

It’s a carefully chosen shortlist of the exceptional hotels I would genuinely recommend to my closest friends.

Best Hotels

key takeaways

  • Hotel Boutique Plácido y Grata, Hotel Tayko Sevilla and Cavalta Boutique Hotel are among the best hotels in the old town of Seville.
  • It is definitely a good idea to choose an hotel in the old town of Seville. The Barrio de Santa Cruz and Triana are definitely the best area Seville to stay in.

  • Hotel Boutique Plácido y Grata: One of my favorite hotels for several years now, but I’m a sucker for beige and minimalist design. I particularly love its common areas, with the vine garden and simple marble style. If you can afford the Suite, go for it without hesitation. The terrace, entirely covered in terracotta, with its open-air shower is a showstopper. But any room here would be an easy yes for me. Favorite room: Suite with Terrace
  • Hotel Casa del Limonero: Eclectic and certainly not for everyone, Casa del Limonero is a brand-new hotel, opened in 2025! It has everything you would expect from an art hotel. Its highly themed rooms and attention to detail are some of the things that make me love writing about hotels. Add to that lemon trees, jasmine, and a pool right in the center of Seville. Hard to resist. Favorite room: Mirador (A private space overlooking the Giralda? There aren’t many like this one in Seville!)
  • Hotel Casa Palacio Don Ramón: You should know it by now, this is the kind of hotel that I absolutely love. A minimalist’s nightmare, Palacio Don Ramón plunges headfirst into Andalusian maximalism. But the hotel is not just about its rooms. It also has two interior courtyards (one with a fountain), a terrace with a pool (obviously) and a bistro restaurant serving the finest of Sevillian cuisine. Favorite room: Junior Suite Don Ramón
  • Cavalta Boutique Hotel: Located right in the heart of Triana, a neighborhood that is still very lively and just steps from Seville’s historic center, you could say that Cavalta understood its boutique hotel assignment. Authentic Sevillian charm. Check. Magnificent rooftop pool. Check. Cocktail bar. Check. As one of the first high-end hotels on the other side of the river, Cavalta Boutique Hotel is a great choice, and you won’t regret staying a little farther from the center. Favorite room: Premium Room

  • Hotel Posada del Lucero: If my husband booked our trips himself, this is probably where he would choose to stay. This is as classic a room as it gets. If you don’t like over-the-top aesthetics and simply want a very good room in one of the best hotels in the city, it’s the Posada del Lucero that you want to book. We love the clean design of the bathrooms and the very large windows in the rooms. Special mention to Casa de Doña María, a house (in the classic Arab style!) with 4 rooms that is part of the property. If you are a large family travelling to Seville, it is definitely a compelling option. And the Posada also has a very interesting rooftop pool that is perfect for beating the Sevillian heat. Favorite room: Superior Double Room
  • Hotel Gravina 51: A more classic and country-inspired take on Seville’s aesthetic, this hotel combines shades of grey with a modern interpretation of Mudejar elements to create rooms with a rather chic, contemporary style. The exteriors of the rooms remain more traditional, the hotel has a wonderful plant-full courtyard, and the rooms lucky enough to have a terrace, have theirs decorated with exquisite green tiles. Favorite room: Junior Suite (it’s one of the lucky ones with the emerald-green tiles)

  • Hotel Tayko Sevilla: Decorated with taste and simplicity in a romantic style, just steps from the Torre del Oro and the river, right next to the Alcázar, but away from the crowds. I can hardly think of a better-located place in Seville for someone who wants proximity and mobility. Pool and restaurant on site. Favorite room: DLX View
  • Mercer Hotel Sevilla: Sister property of the famous EME Catedral Mercer (always revered for its rooftop), Mercer Casa Palacio Castelar is my favorite address in already prestigious El Arenal. What they do, they do well. Beautiful and large rooftop pool, a pared-back central courtyard, this hotel is an emblem of quiet luxury. Favorite room: Junior Suite
  • Hotel Casa del Poeta: There’s hardly a more iconic hotel in Seville than Hotel Alfonso XIII and Casa del Poeta. Luckily, this one is the one of the 2 that I find absolutely worth paying for, and luckily, it’s a bit less expensive. The large orange inner courtyard is simply magical and is the main selling point of this hotel, but it works for me. The rooms are simpler while still being just as sophisticated. Favorite room: Deluxe Room
  • Vincci Selección Unuk: Admittedly, the rooms are not in my preferred style, but it’s undeniable that the common areas of Vincci Unuk are simply breathtaking. Multi-level rooftop terrace with a pool. Sauna, very chic dining area. There is a reason why Unuk has been one of the best places to stay in Seville for several years now. Favorite room: Superior Room
